TANNOY

Pair of original K3838 Tannoy studio monitors.  Circa 1985.  New surrounds fitted using the correct factory part.  Original Tannoy UK boxes...which have been painted white!  The K3838  were the replacement for the HPD385/Arden and are just a little bit bigger again.  In my opinion these are the best 15" dual concentric Tannoy for use with solid state amps of 50w or more as they have a heavier cone which gives much better low end response and higher power handling at the expense of slightly lower sensitivity. 

(They are still over 90dB/1w/1m and will still work fine with 8w single ended amps....but in that application they will not be quiet as good as the earlier models with lightweight cones.)

No grills however we know someone who could make up matching grills with either black or compatible off-while finish for around $100 if you need them.
